When you think of protection equipment, many things may come to mind. If you are athletic, and you participate in sports, you may use knee pads, elbow pads, or a helmet to protect your body from injury. While all of the previously mentioned items will protect you or your child from harm, there are many different types of protection equipment. If you live in the city or in a neighborhood that has a high crime rate, you may want to purchase some pepper spray or mace. Some people even carry a gun with them. Of course, you must obey the rules of your state, which may include obtaining a permit to carry a gun. If you work around hazardous materials, you will need a different type of protection equipment altogether. If you are a garbage hauler, you may come into contact with hazardous materials. Hospitals contain a lot of infectious substances, such as blood and other bodily fluids. Firemen have to brave both smoke and flames to help people. These are just a few jobs that require individuals to work under dangerous conditions. If you have one of these occupations, you already know that you may be required to wear some sort of protection clothing or gear, including masks or respirators. Protection means different things to different people, and everyone, at some point in time, purchases something that could be considered protective equipment.
